The Relation-ship

I do not know from hence you came,
Your soul sent for me to maintain.
Blown into my shore, tattered sail,
To show you love, that you might prevail.

Mast beaten, ready to give up,
Life's oceans have proven they're rough.
Those storms have passed, dark clouds clearing,
When you least expected, revealing.

Count your blessings you're still alive,
Realize now that you will survive.
Toward happiness, must keep pressing,
Fair, kind and true are my blessing

Go pick up your sail, mend the past,
Search with your heart for dreams that last.
Cast your nets and aside your doubt,
There's more life to love, inside out.

Don't forget this shore's lovely song:
To smile from your soul all day long!

I Believe

That we are living in a world that needs more love
That we worry over some of the smallest details when we could be spending our time more happily
That some things happen beyond our control
That if we work together with a common love that beautiful things come from it
That trials to our heart make us that much stronger as we go forward
That God and all the energy of past souls surround us and it is that love that guides our every move
That we should cherish the people in our lives and uplift them because they have been included in our journey for a reason
There are no coincidences
That we need to trust our intuition as it is our only true compass through this life
That our happiness is what we make it to be
That we wrap up our emotions and tie them to things sometimes of no consequence
That there are reasons things happen and we manifest most of it based on our thoughts and attitude
That we all have our own creative capacity and those talents should be used for good and not squandered
That we can control our emotions, but sometimes get caught up in them and can't see the way
That I am born for something greater than bearing children and keeping house
That I was born to change the world, one person at a time, to show them their worth and realize their potential
That we are only as old as we allow ourselves to be, guided by our spirit
That the only true path in life is to share our love light
That truth and beauty lay side by side, as once Emily Dickinson tried to confide.

Out of the Blue

It's hard to shine brightly alone,
Sit in the darkness and stare at the phone.
No one calling or clamoring for your attention,
Only silence between the thoughts of imperfection.
The journey cut short and off at the knees,
Of happiness spread to anyone you please.
No answers to the questions, no love to surround,
How can you reach the sky without leaving the ground?
The noise of the everyday mundane life
Shakes and rattles like a knife
The long looks of loving eyes staring
Gone forever with memories of sharing
We were to be partners, a pair
You showed me how to love again, how to care
I don't know what I'm doing, don't know if I ever will.
Just making it through each day with thoughts of you still.
The dullness of my head won't let me move
Emptiness sits beside me with something to prove
"I'm not worthy" always whispering in my ear
With every thought of how I felt having you near
I don't want to spend my whole life waiting for another to come around
You elevated my emotions, helped me leave the ground.
Tomorrow is another day, another without you
Since you've not decided to see what we can do
I know your eyes speak kindness and your heart is true
I just wasn't ready, focused or able when you came out of the blue.
